5 Easy Ways To Get More Positive Reviews for Your Apartment Community

Blog - Ratings

More and more consumers are basing their purchasing decisions off of the testimonials of strangers. According to this survey by Vendasta, 92% of consumers now read online reviews and, according to this survey by BrightLocal, 84% of people trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations.

So, what does this mean for multifamily communities? It means that your residents can make or brake a potential tenant’s outlook on your community. You can increase your review site scores, and therefore increase your digital curb appeal for prospective tenants, by applying a few simple strategies:

Make Every Interaction Count

This may seem like a no-brainer, but the interactions your staff has with tenants on a daily basis have a huge impact on the likelihood of them leaving a positive review. Remind your staff, whether they’re fixing something around an apartment, or just answering questions from prospective renters, every interaction matters.

Just Ask For a Review

In the same BrightLocal study, 7 out of 10 people said they would leave a review if they were asked. So, just ask! Mention leaving a review in person after any positive interaction with a tenant. Ask over email after a pleasant phone conversation or email correspondence. Your ratings will thank you.

Sign up for SocialAct

SocialAct, our social media platform, provides:

  • Monitoring of social media activity and the ability to promptly respond to reviews
  • A custom URL with landing page that provides easy access to all review sites and social media profiles (right image)
  • Comprehensive tracking and reporting
  • Downloadable Branded Maintenance Postcards, Gym Posters, Table Tents, etc. to encourage residents to leave reviews and interact on social media
Make It Easy

The easier it is for your residents to leave a review, the more likely they are to do it. Add links to top review sites in your staff’s email signature, to your website’s home page and on your social media pages. If you have SocialAct, they’re all included in just one custom URL.

Incentivize Your Residents & Management Team

Offering a $5 Starbucks gift card or another small reward for leaving a Yelp or Apartment Ratings review will encourage your tenants to be more active on your review sites. Spread the word by posting on Facebook or sending out an email blast.

  1. I love this post but just a tip… you should really write longer articles. I hear it helps a lot with getting new visitors. And I think your writing style would keep people really interested in what you had to say about all of this
